Dr. Maureen Block was instrumental in the development and implementation of Women’s Health Night for McLean County and the surrounding area. She believed in Women’s health and was an active supporter and contributor to the event from its inception. Dr. Block strongly believed in living through learning. She was a great friend, colleague and inspiration to all that knew her. On August 25, 2006, she passed away peacefully in her home after a long, valiant battle with cancer. Dr. Block was a wonderful physician and human being. She is greatly missed. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be remembered for all her efforts in promoting Women’s Health. It is on behalf of the Illinois Heart and Lung Associates that each lecture series at Women’s Health Night from 2007 forward is named and dedicated in memorial of Dr. Maureen Block.
