Direct donations and funds collected from events are used for such programs and initiatives as:
CPR Anytime
Approximately 80% of all cardiac arrests do not occur in the presence of a health care provider. We provided CPR kits and manikins to 250 families of cardiac patients, free of charge, upon discharge from BroMenn Hospital. With the knowledge and skills learned from the at-home course, a life may be saved by a loved one, friend, or neighbor. Kits are also available for purchase through the American Heart Association.
Visit them online or call 1-800-AHA-USA-1.
Women’s Health Night
A free, annual event where women, as well as men, can collect important health information from booths and expert speakers. Attendees can also take advantage of health screenings including cholesterol, blood pressure, osteoporosis, and glaucoma screenings. Learn More
Smoke-Free Bloomington/Normal
We became strong supporters in the initiative to make our community healthy and smoke-free. Our Foundation Director and members of Illinois Heart and Lung Associates were among the group of spokespersons offering education. Working closely with Illinois Heart and Lung Associates, we were able to distribute important health information to many members of the community regarding the effects of second hand smoke.
We also have many volunteer opportunities. If you would like to donate your time to the Illinois Heart & Lung Foundation, please call (309) 663-8297 ext. 6.
